Delivering a Workday Contractor in Just Three Days

When unexpected resource gaps arise during a Workday project, organizations often need specialist expertise at very short notice. Finding the right contractor quickly, without compromising on quality, can be the difference between maintaining project momentum and introducing costly delays.

This case study explores how Focus on WD supported a Workday customer with an urgent contract requirement, and delivered a rapid recruitment solution for a business-critical project.

Project Highlights

  • Workday Functional Consultant secured in just three days
  • Two qualified Workday contractors shortlisted within 24 hours
  • Interviews arranged outside normal business hours
  • Offer accepted 30 minutes after interview
  • Contractor started the following Monday

The Challenge

A Workday customer urgently needed an experienced Workday Functional Consultant on a contract basis.

The organization had focused heavily on its Workday Payroll environment, leaving its Core HCM platform in need of immediate functional support. With a live project already underway, there was little time to recruit, making it essential to secure an experienced contractor who could start as quickly as possible without compromising on capability.

Our Approach

Following an initial call from the client on a Thursday afternoon, Focus on WD immediately engaged its specialist Workday contractor network.

Our consultants rapidly sourced, screened and qualified suitable candidates before presenting two experienced Workday Functional Consultants for consideration. To keep the project moving, interviews were arranged for the following day outside normal business hours, while the preferred candidate received interview preparation and a second contractor remained available as a contingency.

By managing every stage of the recruitment process proactively, we enabled the client to make a hiring decision quickly, while maintaining confidence in the quality of the candidates presented.

The Outcome

The preferred candidate was successful at interview, with the client making an offer just 30 minutes later and issuing contract documentation within the hour.

The engagement delivered:

  • Two experienced Workday contractors shortlisted within 24 hours
  • Interviews completed the following day
  • Offer accepted 30 minutes after interview
  • Contract issued within one hour
  • Contractor started the following Monday, completing the entire recruitment process in just three days, including the weekend

By combining specialist Workday contract recruitment expertise with a highly responsive delivery process, Focus on WD helped the client secure critical Workday expertise at pace, ensuring the project could continue without unnecessary delay.
