Global Workday programmes rarely follow a straight line. As implementations expand across countries and new priorities emerge, organisations often need different types of expertise at different stages of the journey, from implementation delivery to ongoing support and platform optimisation.
That was the challenge facing a global medical technology company during a complex Workday programme spanning 20 countries. Over multiple phases of the engagement, Focus Cloud supported implementation, ongoing Application Management Services (AMS) and post-go-live optimisation, providing continuity as the platform continued to evolve.
Project Highlights
- Supported a global Workday programme spanning 20 countries
- Delivered implementation expertise across Absence, Time, Benefits and Compensation
- Provided ongoing Workday Application Management Services (AMS)
- Completed a comprehensive Workday Tenant Health Check following go-live
- Delivered a prioritised remediation roadmap, leading to the full remediation programme
The Challenge
Managing a global Workday programme meant balancing multiple implementation workstreams, delivery partners and country-specific requirements while maintaining consistency across the platform.
Following successful deployments across Absence, Time, Benefits and Compensation, the focus shifted from implementation to governance. The organisation wanted greater confidence that its Workday tenant remained aligned with its original design, with no configuration drift or integration issues that could affect future development.
Rather than simply maintaining the platform, the client wanted a clear understanding of its current environment and practical recommendations for improving long-term platform health.
Our Approach
Focus Cloud built and managed the specialist Workday implementation team, working alongside multiple delivery partners to support consistent deployments across Absence, Time, Benefits and Compensation throughout the global programme.
As the programme evolved, we continued supporting the organisation through ongoing Workday Application Management Services, providing specialist expertise as operational priorities changed.
To help shape the next phase of the platform's lifecycle, we also carried out a comprehensive Tenant Health Check. This included a detailed review of tenant configuration, reporting structures and integrations to identify configuration drift, assess potential risks and validate alignment with the approved solution design.
The findings were consolidated into a prioritised remediation roadmap, delivered within three weeks, enabling stakeholders to address the highest-priority improvements first while establishing a clear path for future optimisation.
The Outcome
The engagement provided continuity throughout the client's Workday journey, from implementation through to ongoing support and post-go-live optimisation.
The engagement delivered:
- Successful Workday implementation support across 20 countries
- Ongoing Application Management Services tailored to the organisation's evolving requirements
- Identification and remediation of 11 configuration issues
- Realignment of the Workday reporting layer with the approved solution design
- Resolution of key integration risks before future optimisation initiatives
- A prioritised remediation roadmap delivered within three weeks
- Appointment of Focus Cloud to deliver the full remediation programme
By supporting multiple stages of the Workday lifecycle through implementation, AMS and strategic optimisation, Focus Cloud helped the business strengthen platform governance, reduce future risk and establish a clear foundation for continuous improvement.
